1. Iyini i-iSixazululi? / What is iSixazululi?

IsiZulu: iSixazululi uhlelo lokusebenza lokufunda olusebenzisa izilimi ezimbili (isiNgisi nesiZulu). English: iSixazululi is a bilingual (English and isiZulu) learning application. It helps South African students solve math problems by scanning images and receiving step-by-step solutions in both English and isiZulu. It also includes object detection to help you learn isiZulu names for everyday objects.

• Open the Math Solver tab
• Tap the "Scan Problem" button
• Take a photo of the math problem or select one from your photo library

• Receive a complete step-by-step solution in both English and isiZulu

The AI analyses your image, identifies the problem type (such as algebra, trigonometry, or calculus), and provides a step-by-step solution in both languages.

3. Isebenza kanjani ukubona izinto? / How does object detection work?

IsiZulu: Vula ithebhu ethi "Detection", cindezela "Start Detection", khomba ikhamera yakho kunoma iyiphi into, thatha isithombe, bese ubona igama lento ngesiNgisi nangesiZulu kanye nesigaba sayo. English: Open the "Detection" tab, tap "Start Detection", point your camera at any object, take a photo, and see the object's name in both English and isiZulu along with its category. This helps you learn isiZulu names for everyday objects such as animals, vehicles, food, electronics, and more.

4. Zigcinwa kuphi izithombe zami? / Where are my photos stored?

IsiZulu: Zonke izithombe zakho zigcinwa endaweni kudivayisi yakho kuphela kusetshenziswa i-SQLite. Awukho umininingwane ogcinwa kumaseva ethu. English: All your photos are stored locally on your device only using SQLite. No data is stored on our servers. When you scan a problem or object, the image is sent to Anthropic Claude AI for analysis, but Anthropic does not retain your image after processing it. You can delete all scan history at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all data permanently.

5. Kungani uhlelo ludinga ikhamera? / Why does the app need camera access?

English: The camera is used for two purposes only: scanning math problems for AI-powered solving, and detecting objects to learn their isiZulu names. The camera is not used for any other purpose and does not operate in the background.

English: Yes, partially. You can browse all 6 math categories and 37 problem types offline. However, scanning math problems and detecting objects requires an internet connection because these features use the Anthropic Claude AI.

IsiZulu: iSixazululi yakhiwe ngokukhethekile ikharikhulamu ye-CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) yeBanga le-12 yaseNingizimu Afrika, ihlanganisa imikhakha engu-6 yemathematika.

English: iSixazululi is built for the South African Grade 12 CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) curriculum, covering 6 mathematics categories:

• Algebra (7 types): Solve for x, quadratic equations, simultaneous equations, simplify expressions, factorisation, inequalities, exponents & surds
• Trigonometry (7 types): Ratios, identities, equations, sine rule, cosine rule, area rule, 3D trigonometry
• Geometry (6 types): Pythagoras theorem, circle theorems, similar triangles, Euclidean proofs, coordinate geometry, analytical geometry
• Functions (6 types): Linear, quadratic, hyperbolic, exponential, logarithmic, inverse
• Probability (5 types): Dependent events, tree diagrams, Venn diagrams, counting principles
• Calculus (7 types): Limits, first principles, differentiation rules, tangents & normals, optimisation, rates of change, cubic graphs

More subjects and levels (Grades 10–11 and university) are on the roadmap.

8. Iqondile kangakanani i-AI? / How accurate is the AI?

English: Our AI uses Anthropic Claude, one of the most advanced AI systems in the world. However, like all AI, it is not perfect. Solutions should be treated as guidance and verified with your teacher or tutor. Factors affecting accuracy:

• Image quality: Clear, well-lit images produce better results
• Handwriting: The AI works better with neatly written or printed problems
• Problem complexity: Simpler problems have a higher accuracy rate than highly complex ones

Remember: use iSixazululi as a learning tool, not as a replacement for your teacher.

9. Ngingasusa kanjani umlando wami? / How do I delete my history?

IsiZulu: Ungasusa wonke umlando wokuskena ngaphakathi kuhlelo lokusebenza. Yonke idatha igcinwa endaweni kudivayisi yakho kuphela, ngakho ukususa uhlelo lokusebenza nako kususa yonke idatha.

English: You can delete all scan history within the app. All data is stored locally on your device only, so uninstalling the app also removes all data.

10. Ingabe uhlelo lokusebenza lumahhala? / Is the app free?

IsiZulu: Yebo, iSixazululi imahhala. Akukho ukukhangisa.

English: Yes, iSixazululi is free to download and use, with no advertising.

• iOS: iPhone or iPad running iOS 15.0 or later
• Android: Device running Android 8.0 (API 26) or later
• Camera / Ikhamera: Required for scanning problems and detecting objects
• Internet / I-inthanethi: Required for AI features (scanning and solving)
