1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using iSixazululi ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Educational Purpose
iSixazululi is designed as a supplementary educational tool for students studying under the South African CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) curriculum.
Important: The App is intended to supplement, not replace, classroom instruction. It should be used alongside textbooks, teachers, and other learning resources. Reliance on the App as your sole study resource is discouraged.
3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The App uses Anthropic Claude AI to generate solutions and object detection results. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Solutions provided are AI-generated estimates and may contain errors or inaccuracies.
- All solutions should be verified with a qualified teacher or tutor before being relied upon for examinations or assessments.
- The accuracy of problem extraction depends on image quality and clarity.
- Object detection and isiZulu translations are approximations and may not always be perfectly accurate.
- Tredicik does not guarantee the correctness, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content.
4. User Responsibilities
As a user of iSixazululi, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful educational purposes.
- Not submit images containing inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Not attempt to circumvent any security features of the App.
- Take responsibility for verifying AI-generated solutions before using them in academic submissions.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Submit images containing personal information of others without their consent.
- Engage in any activity that could harm, disable, or impair the App's functionality.
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems connected to the App.
- Use the App for commercial purposes without written consent from Tredicik.
6. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the App, including but not limited to the source code, design, graphics, user interface, and educational content, are owned by Tredicik.
The CAPS curriculum content referenced within the App is the intellectual property of the South African Department of Basic Education.
isiZulu translations and bilingual educational content within the App are proprietary to Tredicik.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal educational purposes only.
7. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the Anthropic Claude AI API for core functionality. By using AI features, you also agree to Anthropic's terms of service and acceptable use policies. Tredicik is not responsible for:
- Interruptions or downtime of the Anthropic API.
- Changes to the Anthropic API that may affect App functionality.
- Anthropic's handling of data transmitted to their service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:
- Tredicik provides the App "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- Tredicik shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
- Tredicik shall not be liable for any errors or omissions in AI-generated content.
- Tredicik shall not be liable for any academic consequences resulting from reliance on the App's solutions.
- Tredicik's total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tredicik, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the App.
- Your violation of these Terms of Use.
- Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Any content you submit through the App.
10. Internet Connectivity
AI-powered features (solving and object detection) require an active internet connection. Tredicik is not responsible for connectivity issues or data charges incurred while using the App. Offline features (browsing categories) are available without an internet connection.
11. Modifications to the App and Terms
Tredicik reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without prior notice; update these Terms of Use at any time (continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms); and change, limit, or discontinue any feature of the App.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Use, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tredicik regarding your use of iSixazululi.
